I was playing Skyrim and hunting animals to fill soul gems when I really got the itch for a good hunting-focused game. I remember on the original Xbox, I had some Cabela's hunting game where you would get on an ATV, drive into the woods, and hunt deer, and I'd like to play something like that again. I don't really care if I'm hunting deer or dinosaurs with bows or guns, I just want to play some sort of calm, patient hunting game.Do any of you know anything like that for the PC? I also have a 3DS, so that's another option. Far Cry 3/Blood Dragon/4/Primal all have some hunting elements along with FPS and stealth. Other than those you have, but I don't know how well they play since a dedicated hunting game really isn't my thing. Only one is a positive in the Steam user reviews (Pro Hunts). The 3DS might have a few games but I doubt they'll give you a good experience due to the limitations of the 3DS.
On the plus side they're all usually pretty cheap on consoles since they don't sell that well. You might also enjoy the Monster Hunter series, though it's more action packed with combat comparable to Dark Souls, so not exactly calm and relaxing but still a lot of fun and deals with, well, hunting monsters. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is a serious candidate here. Craft equipment, learn about monster preferences and habits, then track it down and fight it. Then use the monster parts you scavenge to craft stronger equipment.I dunno about calm. It's certainly epic at times. You're fighting dragons! There's definitely a sort of cozy feeling about the gameplay loop, of getting so good at fighting a monster that you wonder how you ever had trouble with it before.I find that MMOs are some of the calmest games around, for PvE stuff anyway.

You might want to check out Guild Wars 2. It's free to play (a fairly non-evil implementation of the model), and it features a variety of 'go here, kill some of this thing' type quests.Fantasy Life on 3DS is sort of a (mostly) single-player MMO. It's very low pressure and also has lots of 'kill X enemy' quests.
